My Story: On Being a Nurse Practitioner
I became a Nurse Practitioner because I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. To witness people creating healthier lives for themselves gives me a great sense of purpose and fulfillment.
I was influenced by my mother, who often helped our neighbors in the community where I grew up. She would bring food or care for them and their children when they were ill.
Health Issues I Can Help With
I can diagnose, treat, and help you manage your physical health issues. These include high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity. I can provide the extra support you may need to manage these conditions.
I’m also experienced with and can provide support for mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.
My experience and training in mental and physical health nursing give me a good understanding of the complex relationship between physical and psychological health.
When your physical health suffers, it affects your mental health, and if you struggle with mental health problems, they can also exacerbate physical health issues.
