My Story
Having faced and overcome adversity and encountering many wonderful professionals as I worked to overcome them, I knew from a young age that I would enter a helping profession to support people as they heal. The desire to understand human social-emotional relationships, advocate for those in need, and help others transform various parts of their lives led me to become a social worker.
I bring deep empathy, seek understanding, and am passionate about helping people feel hopeful and strive toward a better version of themselves.

Work Experience

Over the past 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of counseling, empowering, and supporting minority communities and diverse individuals, utilizing evidence-based practices and Christian faith-based approaches when requested. Throughout my career, I’ve provided clinical assessments, developed individualized treatment plans, and delivered evidence-based interventions to my clients.
My work spans multiple settings, including outpatient care, intensive outpatient programs, and school-based clinics. I’ve offered individual and group counseling for adolescents and adults with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, facilitated family sessions, coordinated care with interdisciplinary teams, and supported transitions through recovery and discharge planning.
As a Clinical Training Specialist, I created and led training sessions for over 1,500 staff members, championed initiatives such as Naloxone education and Daily Living Assessments (DLA), and presented on issues of social injustice, stigma, and trauma-informed care to organizations.
My earlier work included roles as a therapist, case manager, respite worker, and MSW intern, consistently focusing on culturally sensitive care, advocacy, and education. At every stage, my goal has been the same: to help others feel seen, supported, and empowered on their journey toward wellness.
My Therapy Approach
I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to support each client’s unique needs, including family systems theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and elements of Gestalt therapy. I also integrate mindfulness practices that honor the connection between spirit, mind, and body and use art therapy to help clients express and explore emotions that may be difficult to verbalize.
My work often focuses on helping my clients overcome their struggles while encouraging personal growth, emotional regulation, and the development of healthier patterns in relationships and daily life.
My goal is to make our work collaborative and insightful, enabling you to gain clarity and make empowered choices. I believe that we all possess a special magic and resilience within us, which, with the right tools, can make the impossible possible.
