My Story: Walking in Purpose Through Service and Care

My journey into social work was shaped by a strong desire to serve individuals and families navigating some of life’s most difficult circumstances. Early in my career, I worked directly with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and poverty, where I witnessed firsthand how trauma, systemic barriers, and lack of resources can profoundly impact people’s lives. These experiences sparked a lasting commitment to advocacy and to supporting individuals as they rebuild hope, stability, and a sense of purpose.

Today, I work with adolescents and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and complex stressors. I also support professionals in high-demand or leadership roles who may be managing stress, burnout, or the pressures of balancing multiple responsibilities.

I also serve as the Director of Social Services at one of the largest foster care agencies in New York City, where I oversee case practice, supervise social work staff, and support programs focused on the safety, permanency, and well-being of children and families. This work has strengthened my ability to support both individual healing and navigate larger systems that impact people’s lives.

My approach is faith-informed and holistic, emphasizing compassion, dignity, and whole-person care. For clients who value spirituality, I thoughtfully integrate faith into the therapeutic process in a way that supports healing without judgment or pressure.

My Approach

My work is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and collaborative. I understand trauma not simply as a single event, but as an experience that can shape how individuals think, feel, and relate to others. Because of this, I focus on creating a space where clients feel emotionally safe and supported, with consistency and trust at the center of the work.

I also draw from attachment theory, recognizing how early relationships influence patterns in connection, self-worth, and emotional regulation. Rather than focusing only on behaviors, I seek to understand the underlying needs and experiences that drive them.

Together, we focus on:

  • Building emotional awareness and regulation
  • Processing past experiences and trauma
  • Strengthening relationships and communication
  • Developing practical tools for long-term growth and stability

My goal is not only to help clients navigate immediate challenges, but to support meaningful and lasting transformation.

I work with adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds, including individuals navigating:

  • Trauma and unresolved past experiences
  • Anxiety and emotional overwhelm
  • Life transitions and identity development

  • Stress related to systemic or environmental barriers

My background in community-based organizations allows me to understand the larger systems that shape individual experiences while still focusing on each client’s unique story and goals.
